CF Benchmarks congratulates 3iQ Corp on the successful listing of its 3iQ Solana Staking ETF (Tickers: SOLQ, SOLQ.U) on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX), marking the latest inflection point for the digital asset class, with one of the first spot-based Solana ETFs to be listed in the North America region.
The ETF utilizes the regulated CME CF Solana-Dollar Reference Rate – New York Variant (SOLUSD_NY), administered by CF Benchmarks, as its Solana (SOL) benchmark, enabling the highest standards of accuracy, reliability and market integrity for SOL pricing.
The 3iQ Solana Staking ETF is among the first ETFs to provide exposure to Solana staking rewards immediately upon its launch. This means institutional and retail investors can now gain comprehensive, regulated and secure access to Solana, within the convenience and transparency of the ETF wrapper, removing the technological and administrative frictions of engaging with crypto directly.
The 3iQ Solana Staking ETF is available in both a default U.S. dollar (USD) pricing series under the ticker symbol SOLQ.U, as well as a Canadian dollar (CAD) pricing series under the ticker SOLQ. Both units share the same CUSIP, being units of the same underlying fund, traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
The 3iQ Solana Staking ETF is thereby a user-friendly and secure means for investors to participate in the Solana network, including exposure to Solana’s price growth potential, as measured by the SOLUSD_NY index.
SOLUSD_NY is a once-a-day benchmark index price for Solana, synchronized with the traditional North American financial market close of 16:00 New York Time. It aggregates trade data from multiple Solana-USD markets operated by major cryptocurrency exchanges that conform to CF Benchmarks’ rigorous regulatory requirements.
Like all CF Benchmarks pricing sources, SOLUSD_NY is underpinned by our status as the first and leading cryptocurrency Benchmark Administrator, authorized and regulated by the UK FCA under the UK Benchmarks Regulation framework (BMR).
SOLUSD_NY is a Registered Benchmark under UK BMR, and as such is also a Third Country benchmark, under the EU's Benchmarks Regulation framework.
The index is the preeminent index price for Solana risk settlement, being the settlement price for CME Group Solana futures, the primary CFTC-regulated Designated Contract Market (DCM) for SOL.
All told, 3iQ’s trusted expertise and track record, together with CF Benchmarks’ regulated digital asset pricing methodology, assures investors of a fully secure means of participating in the Solana network via the 3iQ Solana Staking ETF.
SOLQ/SOLQ.U represents a superior vehicle for Solana exposure, combining unstaked Solana price returns, as indicated by SOLUSD_NY, with potential enhanced returns through staking.
